COMUNICATO STAMPA

Lorenzo Conforti, a young rider from VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè, finished fourth at the U23 Frankfurt Grand Prix, after a race marked by a decisive selection in which he positioned himself in the lead group. In the final, together with teammates Turco and Scalco, he helped manage the race dynamics and prepare for the sprint. In the sprint among the twelve attackers, Conforti battled for second and third place, ultimately finishing fourth.
His words: “Today’s race suited my characteristics, with long climbs in the first half and a faster finish, slightly downhill with a few short ramps. I didn’t come into the race with the best sensations, after a few complicated days, especially at Belvedere, and I wasn’t sure how I would respond. On the decisive climb we were about twenty riders at the front, and I was feeling good, sitting in fifth or sixth position. In the last 25 km I managed to get back to the front, and in the finale, it was me, Scalco, and Turco from our team, who did great work to help me get into the moves and prepare the sprint. I was on the right wheel, that of the winner, who launched early; I fought all the way for second and third place, but in the last 50 meters I got overtaken and finished fourth. Still, it’s a good result, also thanks to the excellent work of my teammates.”
