VF GROUP BARDIANI-CSF FAIZANÈ: GIRO NEXT GEN, THE LINE-UP.

COMUNICATO STAMPA

Il 12 Jun, 2025
Here are the 5 young riders at the start of the U23 Giro d’Italia, scheduled from June 15 to 22.

From June 15 to 22, the Giro Next Gen will take place across Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, and Piedmont.
The U23 race will open with an individual time trial in Rho and is expected to be decided on the summit finishes at Passo Maniva and Prato Nevoso, with potential surprises in Pinerolo. Among the teams at the start is VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè, which will field five young riders selected by sports director Mirko Rossato.

On the start line will be Federico Biagini from Reggio Emilia, who already claimed a second place at the GP Industrie del Marmo this season and was active in the breakaways at the UAE Tour. This will be his debut at the Giro Next Gen.

Alongside him is Lorenzo Conforti, one of the standout riders of last year’s edition, where he achieved two podiums, a top-10 finish, and ended third in the points classification.
Also selected is Luca Paletti, from Emilia, who claimed an excellent third place in the final stage of last year’s race.

Completing the line-up are Matteo Scalco from Vicenza and Filippo Turconi from Varese, an emerging talent from the team’s youth project. Turconi has already won the Trofeo Piva, finished second at the Torino-Biella, and placed fourth at the Trofeo Città di San Vendemiano.

Sports director Mirko Rossato, responsible for the U23 group, commented:

“Our team is now a mature one, made up of riders with experience and awareness of their capabilities. This allows us to set ambitious yet realistic goals: we aim for at least one stage win and a place in the top ten of the general classification — targets that we consider the minimum for this squad.”

“Scalco and Paletti will be our main contenders for the GC, while Turconi will have full freedom to seize opportunities as they come, day by day. There are at least two stages that suit his characteristics particularly well.”

“Biagini and Conforti will also have several chances to shine: on at least three or four stages they could go for a result, either from a small group or even in more selective bunch finishes. We believe we can be competitive in those scenarios too.”

“Above all, I hope the riders are in good physical shape — something that unfortunately hasn’t always been the case in past editions. I’m thinking of Pellizzari two years ago, Scalco last year, or Pinarello three seasons ago. This time, we’re starting with a competitive team and a confident mindset: we’re ready to play our cards.”
