In the second stage of the Giro Next Gen, from Rho Fiera to Cantù over a total distance of 146 kilometers, Belgian rider Jonathan Vervenne claimed a solo victory, crossing the finish line first and taking the stage win. For VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè, it was the first top ten finish in the Under 23 edition of the Giro d’Italia, thanks to a strong performance by Filippo Turconi from Varese, who finished 9th in the bunch sprint behind the Belgian.
Tomorrow, the peloton will set off from Albese con Cassano for the third stage, which will conclude atop Passo Maniva after 144 kilometers of racing.
