COMUNICATO STAMPA

VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè stood out at the Milano-Rapallo, where 19-year-old Colombian Martin Herreño claimed a brilliant second place, securing his first podium as a professional.
In the reduced sprint among the three riders left to contest the victory, Herreño took second place, just behind Alessandro Fancellu (Team UKYO).
Also worth highlighting was the strong collective performance of the team: Martin Marcellusi animated the day’s breakaway, while Filippo Turconi launched a strong attack 30 km from the finish, later reeled back in by the bunch. In the hectic finale, marked by a series of attacks and counterattacks, Herreño showed determination by seizing the decisive move and battling for the win in Rapallo.
These were his words at the finish line:
“Today was a very tough race, but I felt I had good legs. The team rode perfectly, putting me in the ideal position to fight for the result. I really wanted to repay the trust placed in me, and this podium is an important signal for both myself and the team. I’m happy, but also aware that we can aim even higher in the next races.”
