Ready, set, go, and the breakaway group launched the attack, including three riders from VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè: Manuele Tarozzi, Federico Biagini, and Lorenzo Conforti. The peloton, controlled by Ineos Grenadiers of leader Joshua Tarling and UAE Team Emirates of Tadej Pogačar, set the pace to reel in the escapees before the final climb began.

The last to surrender was Federico Biagini from Reggio Emilia, who held on until the steep ramps of the final ascent. Tarozzi, after wearing the black jersey for two days, is now just three points behind the new leader Samudio and remains in contention for victory in this classification.
