COMUNICATO STAMPA

The fifth stage of the UAE Tour once again featured the Tarozzi-Biagini duo, the attacking pair of this UAE Tour. They launched another long-range breakaway, joined by Tadej Pogačar and Van Eetvelt. The breakaway group was caught with 40 km to go. The fight for the black jersey of the intermediate sprints remains open for Manuele Tarozzi, who is currently second, just 5 points behind leader Durić.
In the chaotic final sprint, Parma-born sprinter Mattia Pinazzi was involved in a crash, suffering abrasions and wounds all over his body. Fortunately, there are no fractures, but his participation in the sixth stage remains uncertain. The first finisher for VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè was Enrico Zanoncello, who placed 16th, while Alessandro Pinarello currently holds 23rd place in the general classification.
Tomorrow’s stage, the penultimate of the UAE Tour, will start from the Abu Dhabi Cycling Club and finish at the Abu Dhabi Breakwater, covering a total of 165 km. The route is entirely flat, favoring the sprinters.
