COMUNICATO STAMPA

The next stage race scheduled for VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizané will be O Gran Camiño, taking place from February 26 to March 2, with a total of five stages. The race will start in Portugal and unfold along Lusitanian roads before crossing into Spain in the following stages. The event will kick off with the longest but least demanding stage of the program: 190.6 kilometers entirely on Portuguese territory, starting from Maia and finishing in Matosinhos.
The selection of seven athletes reflects the characteristics of the route. Filippo Magli will be at the start, returning from an injury at the Challenge Mallorca, where he suffered two broken ribs. Now fully recovered, he is ready to compete, leveraging his sprinting ability. Also present is Martin Marcellusi, who started the season on the right foot by securing a podium finish at the Trofeo Serra Tramuntana. The most experienced rider in the lineup will be Luca Covili, while the rest of the team consists of athletes who have already tackled the Volta Valenciana: Luca Paletti, Matteo Scalco, Alex Tolio, and Filippo Turconi from Varese.
Leading the team from the support car will be Mirko Rossato and Luca Amoriello. Rossato stated: “After our experience in Valenciana, this race represents a crucial test to assess our riders’ condition and the progress they have made. It is a demanding competition, particularly suited to climbers. Despite having a young team, I have great confidence in their abilities. I am sure they will give their best and prove their worth in such a competitive field.”
The first stage will be broadcast live on February 26 on Eurosport 2 from 3:00 PM, with streaming available on Discovery+.
