A day to remember for Martin Marcellusi, a 2000-born rider of VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè, who claimed a brilliant second place in the sprint finish of the second stage of O Gran Camiño in A Estrada, just behind Danish rider Magnus Cort Nielsen. Thanks to this performance, Marcellusi moves up to second place in the overall standings, 14 seconds behind Cort. Also present in the leading group of about thirty riders at the finish were Luca Covili and Luca Paletti.

Marcellusi’s words: “Today’s stage suited my characteristics well, and I knew I could achieve a good result, even though there was some uncertainty due to fatigue after yesterday’s effort. In the final, we were three riders in the lead, and thanks to the great work of my teammates, I was able to set up the sprint in the best possible way. Nielsen was stronger in the sprint, but securing second place behind him is still a great satisfaction.”

Tomorrow, the individual time trial from Ourense to Pereiro de Aguiar will determine the general classification.
