Filippo Turconi achieved an outstanding victory at the Trofeo Piva, a race held in Col San Martino. The 2005-born rider from Varese, racing for VF Group-Bardiani CSF Faizanè, crossed the finish line with his arms raised to the sky, ahead of Belgian Duarte Marivoet and Mexican Cesar Macias. His solo effort in the final kilometers proved decisive, thanks to the lead he gained after cresting the Muro di San Vigilio. Also among the top ten were Matteo Scalco, who finished in 6th place, and Luca Paletti, who took 9th.

Here are Filippo Turconi’s words: “It was a very tense finish, the last two laps were already quite demanding. I tried to make my move when there was some movement, before launching one last attack on the Combai climb, and it worked out. A dedication for this success? To my family, but especially to the team that has believed in me both today and for a long time. I managed to get my first real result, and I am truly happy. A special thanks to the team, the sports directors, and my teammates, who were essential today.”
