Manuele Tarozzi played a leading role in the final stage of the Tour of the Alps, the 112 km Lienz–Lienz route. The rider from Faenza made it into the day’s main breakaway, a group of 15 riders that managed to get clear and allowed 8 of them, including Tarozzi, to fight for the stage win. He crossed the line in seventh place in the sprint from the front group, just behind the duo of Prodhomme and Seixas.

Tarozzi’s words: “Today I tried to manage myself well and save energy for the stage. I managed to get into the right breakaway and stayed with the lead group until the final climb. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the legs for the sprint, but I’m still satisfied with my performance.”
