The rider from Faenza was the protagonist of the day’s breakaway, his fourth attack in this Giro. He claimed all the KOM points of the day.

In the twelfth stage of the Giro d’Italia, from Modena to Viadana, Manuele Tarozzi stood out once again with a long-range attack—his fourth breakaway in this year’s Giro. The Faenza-born rider from VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè claimed both KOM points of the day, moving up to third place in the King of the Mountains classification, behind Juan Ayuso and Lorenzo Fortunato.
Tarozzi spent 130km in the breakaway today. In the final sprint, the first across the line for VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè was Enrico Zanoncello, finishing thirteenth in Viadana. Tomorrow, the race continues with the 180-kilometer Rovigo–Vicenza stage, likely ending in another sprint finish.
