VF GROUP BARDIANI-CSF FAIZANÈ: FILIPPO FIORELLI 8TH IN STAGE 15 OF THE GIRO D’ITALIA

COMUNICATO STAMPA

Il 25 May, 2025
Superb race management by the Sicilian, who outsprinted the maglia rosa group at the finish line in Asiago, securing eighth place.

Solid and Smart Performance by Filippo Fiorelli, Eighth in Stage 15 of the Giro d’Italia

A solid and intelligent ride from Filippo Fiorelli, who claimed eighth place in Stage 15 of the Giro d’Italia, the 219 km Fiume Veneto–Asiago. The Sicilian rider of VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè stood out in a challenging stage, managing his efforts wisely after being part of an early, sizeable breakaway.

Having rejoined the maglia rosa group in the final part of the race, Fiorelli stayed composed and sharp, ultimately outsprinting his rivals in the group to secure a strong finish in Asiago.

This marks his third Top 10 finish in this year’s Giro, and the sixth overall for the team.

Fiorelli’s words at the finish line:“It was a really tough stage — we were going full gas from the very start. I knew I had to stay up front to try and break away. In the second move, I found myself with some very strong riders, and I contributed a bit less — I was already at my limit and probably the least of a climber among them. When they started attacking, the group split. I kept riding smart, waiting for the maglia rosa group to come back, and then managed to fight for a good result in the sprint.”
