VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè secured a prestigious result with Luca Paletti from Emilia-Romagna, who stayed in the leading group and contested the sprint for the podium just behind Ulissi and Ponomar. Also in the lead group was Filippo Turconi from Varese, who, just outside the top ten, finished in 11th place.

Unlucky Matteo Scalco from Vicenza, coming off a strong Giro Next Gen, was also in the front group heading into the final part of the race, but crashed and ended up finishing in 27th position.
