Filippo Magli, rider of VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè, was the standout performer of the second stage of the Tour de Wallonie, from Huy to Sambreville. The Tuscan cyclist made his mark with a long breakaway that began just 30 km into the race, staying out front for 120 km.
During the break, Magli claimed two second-place finishes in the intermediate sprints at Jemeppe-sur-Sambre. Thanks to the 4 seconds of time bonuses earned in these sprints, he gained valuable seconds that allowed him to climb up to seventh place in the overall standings.
