COMUNICATO STAMPA

A hard-fought final stage at the Tour du Poitou-Charentes, with VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè once again playing a key role both in the breakaway and in the sprint finish.
In the rain and on a course more selective than in previous days, Federico Biaginianimated the race by joining the day’s breakaway alongside four other riders (Thomas, Rogers, Arnes, and Avondts). The quintet held the lead until the climb 12 km from the finish, where the peloton caught them. It was an effort that highlighted the generosity and attacking spirit of the young rider, who stayed at the front for much of the stage.
In the finale, with the sprint contested by a reduced group thinned out by the pace and terrain, Luca Colnaghi secured a brilliant 6th place, confirming his excellent form. For him, it marked his third Top 10 finish in this edition of the French race, while for the team it was the fourth overall, also counting the 9th place by Enrico Zanoncelloearlier in the week.
The stage victory went to French national champion Dorian Godon (Decathlon Ag2R), ahead of Ion Izagirre (Cofidis) and Giovanni Lonardi (Polti VisitMalta). The overall classification was claimed by Samuel Leroux (Total Energies), already winner of the time trial.
The overall balance of the Tour du Poitou-Charentes for VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè is therefore positive, with the team consistently present in the decisive moments and able to make its mark both in breakaways and in fast finishes.
