VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè is ready for its Malaysian campaign at the Tour de Langkawi, scheduled from September 28 to October 5.

Eight stages in total, with a route that clearly favors the sprinters: as many as six stages are expected to end in bunch sprints. The general classification will likely be decided on the fifth stage, featuring a summit finish at Fraser’s Hill, and to a lesser extent on the final stage in Kuala Lumpur, which includes a few sharp ramps in the closing kilometers.

VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè lines up with a roster built to handle a mostly fast course, with just a couple of key selective days. The team will rely both on its fast men to contest the sprints and on its more resilient riders to defend themselves on the tougher stages.

For the sprint finishes, the leaders will be Enrico Zanoncello and Mattia Pinazzi, supported by Federico Biagini from Reggio Emilia and Luca Covili. Completing the line-up are Colombians Edward Cruz and Martin Herreño, the latter coming off a second place at the recent Milano-Rapallo.

Guiding the team from the car will be sports director Mirko Rossato.

The race will be broadcast live every morning on Discovery Plus: stage one from 4:00 AM, and stage two from 7:50 AM.
