Matteo Scalco is an extremely versatile and promising rider who achieved numerous placements and victories in the U23 category in 2022. Among his most notable results are his victory at the Trofeo Buffoni (1.1) and 4th place at the Junior National Road Championships, where he finished ahead of his teammate Lorenzo Conforti. He also earned 5th place at the Giro di Primavera and 2nd at the Gran Premio Eccellenze Valli di Soligo.
In 2023, Scalco secured his first victory in a Bardiani jersey at the Coppa della Pace. He stood out at the Giro Next Gen, finishing as the 3rd best young rider, and demonstrated competitiveness at the professional level, finishing 6th in the climbers’ classification at the Tour de Langkawi.
In 2024, Scalco devoted much of his season to teamwork, supporting his teammates at the Giro della Valle d’Aosta and the Tour de l’Avenir with the Italian national team.
