BARDIANI CSF FAIZANÈ: 2nd PLACE OF SACHA MODOLO TO THE CRO-RACE. 3rd PLACE OF ALEX TOLIO IN RUOTA D’ORO.

223 km, rain and a final short climb made the finish of the first stage quite difficult. Excellent performance of Sacha Modolo brilliant on the final where he takes 2nd place in the first stage of the Cro Race. Among the youngsters, 3rd place for Alex Tolio at the International Race for U23 riders, Ruota d'Oro.

CRO RACE.
Sacha Modolo is 2nd of stage at the Ludbreg finish in the first stage of the Cro Race. For the expert rider from Veneto this is the best result of the season. First stage made difficult by the long distance (over 223 km of race) and the pouring rain, as well as by the final roughness that made the selection in the group. Always very active and attentive Sacha Modolo who faces the final climb in the very first positions showing good condition and tactical intelligence. In the final good try of Mohoric but the group of the best riders is just behind him, overtaking him in the final sprint. Final victory went to Jonathan Milan (Bahrain-Victorius), ahead of Sacha Modolo, 2nd in the stage and clearly 2nd in also in the general ranking and in the point jersey ranking.

These are the words of Sacha Modolo after the finish line:

“I am quite happy, but also I have some regrets that I could have won with better luck. These are the stages that I like with a little bit of climb near the final, rain and with pure sprinters who have not an easy life to stay in the front. Milan was very good because he seemed to want to be a stopper for Mohoric, then he sprinted while I was a little closed by some riders who arrived on the right. Too bad because I wanted to play it better my chances until the finish-line. Today, however, it is my personal best result of the season, I had a start of season that did not match with my expectations, after which I always tried to help my teammates such as Fiorelli and Colnaghi in the various races. Today I had all the chance for me, also favored by the nervous path that with the rain became even more selective. For this there is certainly some regret for the final result, but we will try again.”
