BARDIANI CSF FAIZANÈ: ENRICO BATTAGLIN ON THE PODIUM OF THE GIRO DELL’APPENNINO.

Wonderful third place for Enrico Battaglin at the Giro dell’Appennino, good at crowning a great team game with Carboni and Garosio decisive to mend Moscon and Ayuso to fight for the final podium.

Third place in the Giro dell’Appennino for Enrico Battaglin. 192 km from Novi Ligure to Genoa with 4 gpm, but it all happens on the last climb of Madonna della Guardia where Giovanni Carboni takes away a first group of 7 forwards while behind him the group is considerably thinning. At the breakaway is Ben Hermans in a solitary escape, chased by Moscon and Ayuso, while behind them at the end of the descent a chasing group of about fifteen units forms with Battaglin, Carboni and Garosio present in the action. After Giovanni Carboni’s good uphill forcing, the athlete from the Marches, together with Andrea Garosio, is still making the decisive effort on the flat to close on Moscon and Ayuso, thus allowing teammate Enrico Battaglin to fight for the podium in the short sprint.

These are the words of Enrico Battaglin after the finish: “Starting from Tour of Slovenia I have finally started to have my good feelings which unfortunately were late in arriving this year. In the Italian championship I felt good I was in the second group, today I managed well on the decisive climb, slipping off a little so as not to go over the top, while in the group in front there was Carboni. Downhill the games reopened, Hermans was on the run, chased by the duo Moscon and Ayuso, and a group of about fifteen units was formed with me, Carboni and Garosio. My teammates have been fundamental in pulling at their best and closing on Moscon and Ayuso allowing me to play for the podium in a finish suitable for me. Too bad for the sprint because I went out maybe a moment earlier, up to 30 meters I was first in the sprint and then second in the order of arrival, then Conti missed me. But this podium gives morale for the next races. The Lugano GP awaits me on Sunday, then Sibiu Tour and Sardinia. In July I want to take advantage of my good condition.”
