GREEN PROJECT BARDIANI-CSF FAIZANÈ: 2ND FILIPPO FIORELLI AT GP GORISKA AND VIPAVA VALLEY. 4TH ALEX TOLIO.
Podium for the Sicilian rider of Green Project Bardiani-CSF Faizanè, very close to his first seasonal success. What a race for Alex Tolio, caught 2km from the finish line after a 100km breakaway, who finished 4th.
An excellent performance by Green Project Bardiani-CSF Faizanè. The race was enlivened by Alex Tolio, in fact the young rider from Veneto born in 2000 will be caught at 2km from the finish line just before the top of the climb, after a breakaway attempt at 50km from the start. In the finale, only a few will catch him to play for the victory. Fiorelli was anticipated in the final downhill section by Adam ŤOUPALÍK, who won the race by a handful of seconds over the #greenteam rider. Alex Tolio, despite 100km in the breakaway, will finish 4th, 7th Filippo Magli.
Filippo Fiorelli’s comments: “This 2nd place is a bit tight for me because we wanted to win this race at all costs, I was very sorry for Alex (Tolio) because he did a great race and would have deserved more. I was quite unlucky in the finale because ŤOUPALÍK attacked on the descent and took a ten-metre lead, unfortunately I couldn’t catch up with him, at that moment we hesitated and obviously this kind of uncertainty is not forgiven. In any case after a difficult start to the season I feel I finally have a good leg, the Giro di Sicilia is coming up and I’m looking forward to it.”
