GREEN PROJECT BARDIANI-CSF FAIZANE’ GREEN PROJECT: PODIUM FOR FILIPPO FIORELLI AT SIBIU CYCLING TOUR.

Third stage crowned by Filippo Fiorelli's third place. "Happy with the third place, tomorrow I will have the last chance to win the stage."

Very tough third stage of the Sibiu Cycling Tour, with its 4,200m of elevation gain. Excellent performances by Luca Rastelli and Alex Tolio, both present in the day’s breakaway. Tolio, once caught, kept the pace imposed by the leading group in the last kilometer, an action that earned him the prize for the best fighter of the day. With 8km to go, Maximilian Schachmann of Bora Hansgrohe launched the decisive attack and arrived alone at the finish line with a 20-second lead over Otruba (2nd) and Filippo Fiorelli (3rd). Despite a treacherous finish and a course not well-suited to his characteristics, Fiorelli made it to the podium, showing excellent physical condition.

Fiorelli says, “Today’s stage was not suitable for my characteristics. I knew that if I had held on until the last climb with the frontrunners, I would have had a good chance to win. My legs responded well, and I am satisfied with the third place. I also want to thank my teammates for their excellent work. Tomorrow, I will have one last chance to make my mark in the sprint.”
