3rd place for African continental champion at Giro dell'Appennino, immediate podium for him in first race after Giro d'Italia.
Statements from Henok Mulubrhan, who finished third at the finish line in Via XX Settembre in Genoa, Italy: “I didn’t think I was in such good shape for the first race after the Giro d’Italia. We rode well, and for most of the race, I stayed in front with my teammates. Once I crossed the finish line, I cheered for third place and raised my hands. I’m still very happy with third place.”
Henok capitalized on the Intermarché Circus Wanty train to win the bunch sprint. The victory went to Swiss rider Marc Hirschi of UAE Team Emirates, who defeated his Spanish breakaway companion Cristian Rodriguez in the sprint.
