GREEN PROJECT BARDIANI-CSF FAIZANÈ: QINGHAI LAKE. HENOK MULUBRHAN WINS THE QUEEN STAGE.
What a magnificent triumph by the African continental champion at the Tour of Qinghai Lake! The crucial support from teammate Riccardo Lucca played a decisive role in the finale.
From the very beginning of the stage, a battle ensued, culminating in the final climbs of today’s route, where the contribution of breakaway companion Riccardo Lucca was instrumental in favor of the African continental champion. Henok emerged victorious in the sprint at Gonghe, securing his fourth win of the season and marking the 11th success for the #greenteam in the 2023 season.
The situation in the general classification was then overturned, as the African continental champion now sits in second place, just 3” behind Eric Antonio Fagundez (Burgos BH), while still holding the leader’s jersey in the points classification.
Henok Mulubrhan:“It was a challenging race, and my teammates performed admirably. Our objective today was to claim the yellow jersey, and we pushed ourselves to the limit on the final climb. I want to express my gratitude to the entire team, who supported and worked for me. We are thrilled with this second victory in China, and we also secured the points and polka-dot jerseys. Tomorrow, we will give our best efforts to continue our winning streak.”
Alessio Nieri currently leads the climbers’ classification. In the team classification, Green Project Bardiani-CSF Faizanè holds the first position.
