Second stage of the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana, 7 GPMs of which 4 were won by Samuele Zoccarato.
A hard-fought and heated second stage from the first moments, decisive for the overall classification with a good 3500 m of total elevation gain. Samuele Zoccarato conquers a great haul at the GPMs, below the results of the rider from Vicenza, he commands the climbers classification with 28 points, obtained by placing 2nd in the first classified peaks, 1st in the next 4 and 3rd in the penultimate.
The rider’s statements after this fantastic individual action:” I am very happy to wear the KOM jersey, quite an unexpected result, I tried to hold on until the penultimate climb, so I did and I reached my goal, I will try to wear it until the end.”
Former #greenteam rider Giulio Ciccone wins after an action led by Ineos Grenadier men on the Alto De Pinos climb, where Luca Covili, today’s best placed rider, finished 25th.
