Enrico Zanoncello narrowly misses the podium in the sixth stage, finishing in 4th place, with the victory going to De Kleijn. He secures the 2nd position in the points classification for the Veronese rider.
The sixth stage was characterized by several attacks and breakaway attempts. The last escapees were caught by the main group with just over 5km to go. The riders in the green jersey did an impeccable job organizing the train for Enrico Zanoncello, who was always in contention for the stage win. He made a sprint move, finishing in 4th place. The Veronese rider continues to rack up results in this Tour of Malaysia: it’s his 5th top 10 finish and he has secured two podiums. There are still two days of racing left to try for the coveted stage win. Zanoncello is in second place in the points classification, behind the Dutchman Arvid De Kleijn from Tudor Pro Cycling team.
