BARDIANI-CSF HEADS TO SETTIMANA COPPI E BARTALI
Bardiani-CSF is ready for its sixth stages race of the season, Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali, starting tomorrow, March 23, with two half stages and finishing on Sunday, March 26. The Italian race, UCI class 2.1, be also the fourth event of Ciclismo Cup challenge, the new format of Italian Cup promoted by Lega Ciclismo and PMG Sport.
Line up – The #GreenTeam, led by sport directors Stefano Zanatta and Roberto Reverberi, will count on eight riders: Giulio Ciccone and Vincenzo Albanese, who will make their official 2017 debut, Stefano Pirazzi, Marco Maronese, Lorenzo Rota, Paolo Simion, Edoardo Zardini and Simone Sterbini, who just recovered from elbow’s micro-fracture.
Quote – “We’ll be at the start with desire and awareness to do to well” said Zanatta. “All the riders selected are on form, they covered enough kilometers since the beginning of the season and benefit of a period of rest. Only Ciccone, Albanese and Sterbini have an interrogative point on their condition but I’m sure they will provide their contribute to the team”.
Facts – Bardiani-CSF has a stage win in its palmares at Settimana Coppi e Bartali, took by Pirazzi last year, 4th stage. In four editions, the #GreenTeam achieved eleven top ten placements and one podium, while in GC always reached the top ten (in 2016, Pirazzi 4th and Ciccone 6th). Average age of the team is 24 years – Albanese the youngest (20) and Pirazzi the “oldest” (30).
