MILANO-SANREMO: 284 IN THE BREAKAWAY FOR ALESSANDRO TONELLI CAUGHT BY BEST RIDERS ONLY AT 9KM SINCE THE FINISH LINE. 4TH BREAKAWAY IN A ROW FOR HIM IN THE MILANO-SANREMO

284 km in the breakaway today for Alessandro Tonelli in this edition of Milano-Sanremo, the forth in a row in the breakaway. For the first time he passed the Cipressa in front of the race, arriving since the final 9 km on the Poggio climb. 29th place for Filippo Fiorelli, the best of the team on the finish-line.

The breakaway pro Alessandro Tonelli is again on the attack to the Milano-Sanremo, for the 4th edition in a row. After the great actions of 2019, 2020 and 2021 the rider of the Bardiani CSF Faizanè passed the Cipressa in front of the group remain gin in the 2022 breakaway for 284 km.

268km km of breakaway in 2021 edition, 265 in 2020, 250 in 2019, always with great actions and courage. It seems difficult to improve also this year but at first the good numbers of attackers and the favorable wind, then and mostly the very good condition permits to him and to Samuele Rivi of being caught only on the Poggio climb, the last one, at 9km before the finish-line.

Behind him a good race also of Filippo Fiorelli 29th on the finish-line. 69° place also for Alessandro Tonelli closing something more than 2 minutes behind the leaders.

These the words of Alessandro Tonelli after the finish-line:

“Today I was feeling really good. We were a good numbers of riders in the breakaway group, but it was hard. Many of my “breakaway-mates” starting having troubles after 24okm of races so we remain a smallest group. I tried to remain solo, but Samuele Rivi resit. And at the end it was better like this so after Cipressa we were able to push together arriving to the Poggio climb. In these kind of races it is almost impossible to arrive to the finish-line with the breakaway but we have never been so close.”
