READY TO GO: DEBUT AT TOUR COLOMBIA
EVERYTHING IS READY FOR THE FIRST RACE, FROM 12 TO 17 FEBRUARY
The countdown for Bardiani-CSF debut in 2019 season is now running out. Three months after the last competition in China, at the Tour of Hainan, and just few days after the end of the training camp on Calp, the #GreenTeam gets back on track with an intercontinental trip to South America.
In the scheduled, from 12 to 17 February, the second edition of the Tour Colombia, already run in 2018 and filed with two top ten placements by Guardini. Wednesday 9 is scheduled for the flight that will bring the team to Medellin.
The six stages of the 2019 route consist of 14 km individual time trial on the first day, followed by three fractions suited to the fast wheels and two stages with an uphill finish to decide the final classification.
Bardiani-CSF will entrust its own chances of result to six riders. Andrea Guardini, Paolo Simion, Marco Maronese and Michael Bresciani make up the train for fast arrivals, supported by Mirco Maestri and Enrico Barbin in the role of free hitters.
“From the winter preparation and the camp in Spain we received positive feedbacks on the condition of the guys. We start with the awareness of feeling well and with the desire to leave our mark immediately “explained team director Stefano Zanatta, who will lead the team.
“The group is close-knit, they know each other and they are all very motivated. Compared to last year, stages are totally unknown and we’ll need maximum concentration. We will have also to pay close attention to acclimatization, both for jet lag and for altitude. Almost all the routes are over 2,000 meters high, a detail to not underestimate for the first race of the year “.
