Three athletes from the team in the decisive breakaway, Pozzovivo grabs a Top 10 finish, Fiorelli wins the Intergiro sprint.
The day after the rest day, the athletes of VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè stood out in the tenth stage of the Giro d’Italia. After several attack attempts by Giulio Pellizzari in the initial phases, Pozzovivo, Covili, and Fiorelli joined the decisive breakaway composed of 25 riders. Noteworthy is Covili’s work in favor of Pozzovivo at the start of the Bocca della Selva climb, which allowed the Lucanian to secure a Top 10 finish.
Also in great form was the Sicilian Filippo Fiorelli, who took the lead in the Intergiro classification by winning the dedicated sprint in Guardia Sanframondi. Thanks to their consistent performance, the team is fifth in the team classification. The designated captain for the Giro, Domenico Pozzovivo, is fifteenth overall.
