Another day of attacking for Giulio Pellizzari, who joined the first breakaway of the day and conquered the prestigious Cima Coppi, beating Nairo Quintana. The twenty-year-old from Marche, riding for VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè, moves up to second place in the climbers’ classification behind Tadej Pogačar thanks to the points earned today and will wear the blue jersey tomorrow.
Luca Covili also had an excellent race today, keeping pace with the best riders until the final kilometers, where the battle for the stage victory intensified. The athlete from Emilia moves up to fifteenth place in the overall classification.
