Pinarello prevails in the head-to-head with Pescador and secures the third seasonal victory for the VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè.

Alessandro Pinarello, a young rider born in 2003 from VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè, won today the 61st Palio del Recioto, an international race reserved for the best Under 23 riders in the world. In the two-man sprint, the athlete from Treviso prevailed over Colombian Diego Pescador. Following yesterday’s placement at the Giro del Belvedere, the athlete from Conegliano seals the third seasonal victory for the team.

Making the difference uphill were Alessandro Pinarello and Colombian Diego Pescador, who arrived with a minimal advantage over their closest pursuers on the finish line. Also in the Top 10 were Matteo Scalco (7th) and Giulio Pellizzari (8th).

Pinarello statements: “It was a tense race from the beginning, Visma – Lease a Bike attacked several times, the selection was natural, the route was indeed very demanding but we always raced together and we were perfect. I hadn’t won since I was a junior, it’s always nice to cross the finish line first, I missed it. The taste of victory has something unique, I chased it for so long, including yesterday at Belvedere, today I came back to savor it. The race was a long tug-of-war between us and Visma – Lease a Bike. On the final climb, they tried to impose the pace but it wasn’t very high. Paletti took the lead and pushed hard, causing some damage in the group. Once downhill, I was undecided whether to try to arrive alone or not, but in hindsight, it was better to stay with Pescador and play the sprint. I knew I was faster and so it was.”
