Zanoncello secured 7th place in the final stage. The rider from Verona clinched the second spot on the podium in the GC.
Enrico Zanoncello secures another impressive placement, finishing 7th in the final stage in Gaochun. The sprinter from Verona ascends to the second step of the podium in the final classification and claims third place in the points classification. Nineteen-year-old Lorenzo Conforti also delivers an outstanding performance in the Tour of Taihu Lake, clinching 8th place in the GC and third in the youth classification.
Reflecting on the race, Enrico Zanoncello states, “Today we gave our all, aiming for victory while also considering the overall standings. Unfortunately, in the sprint, I was boxed in and finished 7th. Nevertheless, I’m pleased with the podium placement in the general classification. It was an intense week, but I always had fantastic teammates by my side. I’m also thrilled for Conforti; he did an excellent job, and I believe he has the potential to grow. At just 19, he already possesses the character to excel in the coming years.”
The #greenteam returns to Italy with an impressive record from this Chinese journey: 3 stage podium finishes with Zanoncello and Conforti, 3 TOP 10 finishes, a 2nd place in the team ranking, and, of course, Zanoncello’s podium placement in the final classification.
