VF GROUP BARDIANI-CSF FAIZANÈ: TONELLI-TAROZZI DOUBLE AT THE VOLTA VALENCIANA.

What an achievement by VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè, securing the first Italian victory of the season with Alessandro Tonelli, followed by Manuele Tarozzi in second place.

An extraordinary and unforgettable day for the VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè, which wins the first stage of the Volta Valenciana thanks to Alessandro Tonelli, first ahead of teammate Manuele Tarozzi, after a beautiful ride. The two attacked on the final climb, gaining enough margin to cross the finish line with a comfortable lead. For the Brescian Tonelli, this marks his second career victory.

Tonelli’s statements, who has been with Reverberi’s team for ten years: “A beautiful day, I must thank my teammate Manuele Tarozzi for this success, who helped me throughout the race. This victory is very important because it means that we did an excellent job of preparation during the winter. We will try to hold onto the leader’s jersey as long as possible in the coming days. Now we will approach the races with more confidence and try to win again.”

Roberto Reverberi, team manager, states: “This morning on the bus, I told the guys that there would be a chance for the breakaway to make it. Anything can happen in short stage races. During the race, there was some uncertainty about who should lead; they let the breakaway go at nine minutes, and when the group started to close the gap, we attacked on the final climb. Tonelli was the strongest in the group; he even waited for Tarozzi on the final climb, and they went to the finish together. We want to dedicate this victory to Ugo De Rosa, who passed away last year.”
