An edition of the Milano-Sanremo where the team VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè was a protagonist with a long-range attack, propelled by the duo Zoccarato-Tonelli, as in 2023. The two covered 240km in the breakaway before being caught by the peloton.
For Tonelli, reaching his tenth season as a professional with the team of Bruno and Roberto Reverberi, this marks his sixth consecutive times in the breakaway at the Milano-Sanremo, while for Samuele Zoccarato, it is his second in two participation. The large group of escapees, totaling 10, was caught 19km from the finish on the climb of the Cipressa, thanks to the forcing of the UAE Team Emirates.
The VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè will resume racing in Slovenia tomorrow, with the Slovenian Istria GP, while the next Italian calendar engagement is the Coppi e Bartali race.
