BARDIANI CSF FAIZANÈ: 3rd PLACE OF MARTIN MARCELLUSI IN CAPODARCO. 9TH PLACE FOR LUCA COLNAGHI IN POSTNORD DANMARK RUNDT.

Intense day at Bardiani CSF Faizanè with 19 riders involved in 3 different races. Satisfaction among young riders with Martin Marcellusi's prestigious podium in Capodarco. Alex Tolio was also among the protagonists of the day in the top 10. In Denmark 9th place in the sprint for Luca Colnaghi.

An intense Tuesday of competitions this August 16th for Bardiani CSF Faizanè, involved on 3 races with 19 athletes between Italy, France and Denmark.

In Italy, space for the youngest riders of the team, with Martin Marcellusi conquering the third step of the podium in Capodarco at the end of an attacking race and on a rather tough finish-line due to his skills. The rider from Lazio manages to keep the pace of the best for a long time having to give up a few meters only in the final tear where Nicolò Buratti wins, ahead of De Pretto and precisely Martin Marcellusi who completes an all-Italian podium anticipating Thompson, Villa and Maire.

Also present in the decisive action was Alex Tolio, who after the 4th place on Sunday at the GP Poggiana, again became the protagonist of a good race on the attack and closed in the final top10.

These are the words of Martin Marcellusi after today’s podium:

“Today the team race well, we were always present in the decisive actions. Alex Tolio entered first as early as km 100, then I came back to the group of the best. Honestly, on the last lap I also thought I could win the race having kept the pace of the best and since we were only 6 riders left, but Buratti and De Pretto were stronger, I gave everything I had but just at the decisive moment I was no longer able to hold their wheels, so congratulations to them that today they went really fast.”

Meanwhile in Denmark, in the first stage of the PostNord Danmark Rundt it was Luca Colnaghi who took a good top 10, finishing seventh in the sprint, won by Olav Kooij on Jasper Philipsen. A fall in the last km cuts Sacha Modolo out of the game, while a fall of less than 60km conditioned Enrico Zanoncello’s race.
