Chilean Vicente Rojas, who turned 22 yesterday, narrowly missed the podium in the U23 classic in Frankfurt, securing the fourth position, with his teammate and breakaway companion Filippo Turconi placing sixth. The two attacked after the last climbs along with 5 other riders, gaining a decent advantage that allowed them to contend for victory in the narrow sprint.
Vicente Rojas’ statements: “During the race, I felt good, always trying to stay upfront and attentive to attacks. When the breakaway of 7 formed, I entered along with Filippo (Turconi), and 3 kilometers from the finish, I tried to attack, but in the end, we arrived in a sprint. I’m happy with the result, which gives us confidence for the upcoming races.”
