VF GROUP BARDIANI-CSF FAIZANÈ: HERE ARE THE 6 YOUNG RIDERS SELECTED FOR THE GIRO NEXT GEN.

After the conclusion of the Giro d'Italia, VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè is preparing for the Giro Next Gen, from June 9th to 16th.

From June 9th to 16th, the Giro Next Gen will take place, featuring the most promising young riders on the international scene. Over 8 days, 8 stages will determine the winner of the pink jersey. The selection of participants includes a mix of young talents (including two in their first year in the Under23 category) and experienced athletes with diverse characteristics to compete in each stage.

These are the words of Mirko Rossato, the DS who follows and directs the Under23 team: “We have a competitive team, suited for all types of courses. This will also be the first participation for Rojas and Turconi, who were juniors last year. I want them to learn and gain experience; they will support our more mature riders but will also have the freedom to go for breakaways in certain stages. Our minimum goal remains a stage victory.”

The designated captain for the Giro Next Gen is Alessandro Pinarello, the young Venetian born in 2003. In his third year as a professional, he will aim to fulfill the team’s classification dreams. He was second overall in the Tour of Antalya. An athlete who keeps pace in climbing, he has proven his abilities in the races he has participated in.

Following him are two athletes in their first year in the category, such as the Chilean Vicente Rojas, who finished fourth in the GP Frankfurt Under23 and fourth in the queen stage of the Alpès Isère Tour. Also starting is the Varese native Filippo Turconi, the youngest on the team, born in 2005, who finished third this year in the GP del Marmo.

For sprints, the team will rely on the promising Lorenzo Conforti, who, after several second places, will seek his much-desired first career victory. With a fast finish, he secured second place in the Trofeo Poreč, the GP Goriška, and the second stage of the Istrian Spring Trophy.

Also participating in the Giro is Vicenza’s Matteo Scalco, in his second year as a professional. Last year, he finished 17th overall in the Giro Next Gen.

Rounding out the team is the young Luca Paletti, who finished ninth overall this year in the recent Alpes Isère Tour, where he demonstrated excellent climbing skills in the queen stage.
