VF GROUP BARDIANI-CSF FAIZANÈ: TOUR OF THE ALPS, FIRST STAGE. 17TH PLACE FOR PELLIZZARI.
The young riders of the VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè performed well in this first stage.
In the first stage of the Tour of the Alps, the Egna-Cortina Sulla Strada del Vino, covering 133 km, the young riders from VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè showed they can keep up with the best. We’re talking about Scalco, Pinarello, and Pellizzari, who remained in the selected group of 40 riders on the final climb, along with the more experienced Covili and Tolio.
After the summit, the leading group gained a good margin. In pursuit, some riders from the team, including Giulio Pellizzari, Luca Covili, and Alex Tolio, crossed the finish line with a 34” gap, within Filippo Ganna’s group. Pellizzari is now 3rd in the young rider classification.
It’s worth noting the unfortunate crash suffered by Alex Tolio, fortunately without serious consequences. Tomorrow brings the second stage of the Tour of the Alps, from Salorno to Stans.
